Abdullah Hussaini 

Farm Operation, Employment, or Business Details: Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Junior Vice President of Marketing. In this role, Hussaini works with producers on developing marketing plans, managing price risk, and providing producers marketing tools to discover strategies best fitting their unique operations. 

How did you become involved in the industry? I started working in agriculture at a young age with a sheep background. After becoming employed at Equity through the sheep division, I developed my background on the beef side. 

What does the Wisconsin Beef Council mission mean to you - 'To Build Demand for Beef that is Sustainable for Future Generations'? It is important to inform consumers and producers about the benefits of beef as well as influencers and work with others to increase beef consumption while sharing its story. 

What are your favorite things about being a Wisconsin Beef Council Board Member? I enjoy voicing producer concerns by deciding how to allocate resources to help their livelihoods. 

What Wisconsin Beef Council program area do you feel is important to growing demand for beef and why? Consumer information as this is the main group that develops how we should implement changes on spending and allocating resources to increase demand. 

If you could tell your friends one key thing about the Beef Checkoff, what would it be? This program creates education of both producers and consumers on beef production and its benefits. 

What is your favorite thing about the agricultural industry? The people who are determined to overcome any obstacle that comes their way. 

What is the favorite piece of advice you've ever received? If you make a plan, stick with it until the finish line.
