About Us

"To build beef demand that is sustainable for future generations."

Who We Are

The Wisconsin Beef Council is a producer-directed not-for-profit organization funded by the $1.00 per head assessment on all cattle sold in the state of Wisconsin per the Federal Beef Promotion and Research Act & Order. Half of one dollar remains in Wisconsin for local beef promotion, while the other half is forwarded to the Cattlemen's Beef Board.

What We Do

The purpose of the Council is to fund beef promotion, research and consumer education activities supporting Wisconsin's $2.1 billion beef industry. The WBC operates under the guidance of its Board of Directors.

Meet Wisconsin Beef Council's Leadership

The work undertaken by Wisconsin Beef Council is guided by industry leaders representing every segment of the Wisconsin Cattle industry. These individuals on the Wisconsin board are nominated by their respective organizations and appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin to give voice, expertise and perspective to the needs of Wisconsin cattle ranchers, farmers and beef producers.

The Wisconsin Beef Council staff proudly serves Wisconsin cattle farmers and ranchers through education, promotion and community engagement to demonstrate the value of the beef industry in Wisconsin. We also engage in activities that demonstrate that not only is beef delicious, but it's also a powerful ally in building healthy bodies, thriving communities and a strong economy for Wisconsin.
