Caprese Burger

Cut: Ground Beef
Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Cook Time: 15 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 3 tbs. Italian Seasoning (prefer Papa Alioto’s seasoning)
  • ¼ cup chopped sun dried tomatoes
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 4 slices fresh Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large ripe tomato, cut into 4 slices
  • 8-12 fresh basil leaves
  • 4 hamburger buns

Directions:

1.
Combine ground beef and 3 tablespoons Italian seasoning in large bowl, mixing lightly, but thoroughly. Shape into 4 patties.

2. Place patties on grill over medium heat. Grill uncovered 13 to 15 minutes to medium (160 degrees F) doneness, until not pink in center and juices show no pink color, turning occasionally.

3. When almost done, top each burger with a mozzarella cheese slice so it warms and starts to melt.

4. Combine mayonnaise, sun dried tomatoes and one teaspoon of Italian seasoning in small bowl. Spread sauce on bottom of each hamburger bun. Top with burger, tomato slice and several basil leaves. Enjoy! Makes 4 sandwiches.
