“Beef in the Classroom” is a grant program funded by the beef check-off, administered by the Wisconsin Beef Council.  This program provides financial support for the use of beef products in junior and senior high school Family and Consumer Science and Catering/ProStart courses.  It reinforces education lessons about lean beef selection, storage, preparation and nutrition.

Grant: $300/school maximum

Money Restrictions – this is a reimbursement program:

You must submit copies of receipts of your beef purchase to be reimbursed. 

The program is limited to not more than $300 per school.

Deadline to Apply– Monday, October 31, 2016


Application Process:

  1. Complete Form 1 - one-page application for each class type. Do not combine applications for the different classes – but you may combine sections of the same class, i.e. one for all seven sections of Exploring Foods.
  2. Completed applications must be submitted by October 31, 2016 to:

Reimbursement Process – Deadlines

1. Complete and return Form 2 – Reimbursement Request by May 31, 2017.

2. Complete and return Form 3 – Teacher Evaluation by May 31, 2017.

3. Attach copies of receipts for beef purchased.

4. Once all forms are received a check will be sent for reimbursement, not exceeding the amount you were initially awarded. Recipients not completing the reimbursement requirements by May 31, 2017 will not be reimbursed.
